Mostly from the DeLoach estate and Maboroshi in the south Sebastopol Hills of the Russian River Valley, this wine sees open-top fermentations with cooler ferments. The wine is gorgeously perfumed, with dark cherry fruit and subtle white pepper, alongside something beautifully earthy and woodsy. It has a rich, velvety texture with expressive fine-grained tannins, along with lovely clove and underlying smoked paprika notes, finishing long and lacy with a rich spine of blood orange acidity. Aged 17 months in 22% new French oak.
