Winemaker TJ Evans carefully managed the ten days of intense heat that arrived in early September, employing preemptive irrigation and meticulous attention to detail to ensure the grapes reached maturity without succumbing to fruit desiccation. Although the harvest window was compressed, the estate Pinot Noir stands out, showcasing deep, dark fruit character. A heady mix of cola spices, a touch of maple-charred cedarwood, and juicy black cherry frame a tangy, tart Pinot Noir layered with star anise, cola, earth, and clove, all carried through to a medium-to-full-bodied finish. Domaine Carneros has been producing Pinot Noir since 1992 and has built an entire facility dedicated to its production. Today, they craft approximately 550 barrels annually. This estate Pinot Noir is a blend of all their estate-grown grapes from the Carneros region.
