Grown on the Mendocino Ridge, just 3.3 miles from the Pacific ocean, this has a touch of cherry cola and cured meat on the nose. It's visceral and earthy, showing its ripeness aromatically while the palate and body remain textured and toned, owing as much to fruit as to freshness. California's ripeness is evident, and so is the brisk freshness of its coniferous coast. 20% whole bunch fruit in the ferment and a mere third of new oak allow the Pinot to speak.
