Cielo is from the property's highest point at Sea View Ridge, at 1875ft. There are very florally expressive aromas from the Cielo, which has more soil and fractured stone. It is the most exposed part of the vineyard, with many marine and forest elements imparting character to the wine. Smoky sea salt, purple violets and white pepper aromatics leap generously forward. The palate shows a lushness of red berries, rose hip oil and wild lavender. The finish is broad, with umami and spices lingering with a hint of smokiness for a long time.
