So fresh and vibrant, with cool, deep forest pine and sage, wet slate, tobacco, and cigar box. Pure black fruits dominate, lifted by a beautiful minty freshness and crisp acidity balanced by fine-grained tannins. There is a lovely perfumed freshness, and seamlessness throughout. Sourced from a 34-acre (13.8-hectare) vineyard acquired by Tom Gamble in 2014—20 acres (8.1 hectares) of which were planted in the 1970s—the site is named for his mother, Mary Ann McGuire, who championed the family’s work in river restoration and the Napa Agricultural Preserve. It is farmed regeneratively and organically. The blend includes 8% Petit Verdot.
