The aromatics here are amazingly fresh, with black currants, dusty soil, dried sage, sweet tobacco and cedar-tinged notes with cocoa powder and graphite. What a marvellously complete wine. It's just beautifully compact and yet voluminous. Impressively sculpted tannins with a wonderful grip and intensity. They envelop the palate and resolve, giving way to spiced plums, black cherry, a kiss of spearmint, and crushed stone minerals. The wine has a warming, earthy intensity balanced by a cooling freshness of delicious fruit. It's such an expressive wine. So much life ahead of it. Cabernet Sauvignon 77%, Merlot 12%, 5% Cabernet Franc, 3% Malbec and 3% and Petit Verdot. 20 months of elevage, racked once, bottled and cellared 5 years before release.
