Sonoma County

Cork

Tasted again in the summer of 2026, I can't believe how youthful and vibrant this wine is. It feels like the youngest on the table, after tasting a 2018 and 2016. The concentration is off-the-charts impressive, with black fruit, just-picked blackberries, perfumed violets and loamy earth. Crisp tannins are fine with a resolving, powdery quality, laced with dark chocolate notes, a sprinkling of sea salt, and pulverised graphite minerality on the lengthy, full-bodied and mineral-scented finish. This is getting better with age, and I reckon in a few more years, as the fruit and texture meld even more, it could be a positively perfect wine.
