Hamel has made a clear investment in growing Grenache by deeply studying its vineyards and allowing each site to speak for itself, guided by an intentional, light-touch approach in the cellar. The 2023 vintage of the Estate Grenache is a nice example of their work - super approachable, aromatic, and well-crafted. It offers aromas of dewy rose petals, warm spice over red berries, and a hint of dried orange peel. Fermented with 60% whole cluster and aged in 100% concrete eggs, the wine has both lift and structure. On the palate, there’s a gentle grip and savoury spice that gives definition to the mid-palate, with a clean and persistent finish. Ready to drink now but with plenty of life to enjoy over the next 10 years.
