The product of a hot, powerfully ripe vintage, this broad-shouldered, ample wine is easing through a second, more subdued stage of its life. Still, there's a beating heart of fresh red berry flavour dusted with tertiary notes of dry earth and mushroom. It's a bit delicate in concentration, but a fine, fresh framework of acidity and fine tannins linger sweetly on the finish. Drink soon.
