Sourced from Little Red Vineyard, planted to the Alban clone, this red was hand-picked, hand-sorted, and fermented in tank and puncheon using native yeast, and aged in 50% new Billion and François Frères French oak barrels for 16 months prior to being bottled unfined and unfiltered. Unmistakably California Syrah with its wonderful high-toned violet character and charcuterie notes. Blackberry and black cherry fruit, blood orange, and subtle cocoa powder nuances build in the glass, while mineral-laced tannins are velvety, with a bit of grip on the finish as they build. Structured, juicy with a saline and lengthy blue-fruited and graphite mineral finish.
