Selected from the best six-to-seven barrels and named for Hughes Davies’ mother, Jamie Davies, this wine comes from a notably cool site, and in a cool vintage that character really shows in the texture. Long-chained tannins give a sense of length and firm structure, yet they are beautifully polished at the edges and framed by cool granitic minerality. The fruit profile leans distinctly blue, layered with a toasty richness and beautifully integrated spice. Profoundly inky and dark, the wine is expansive, impressively long, and delicious.
