The Bien Nacido site is the coolest of those Jaffurs source fruit but this wine is the ripest of the 2021s, which I tasted (15%). Generous aromatics hover in the black fruit range, with spicy black plums, crushed black stone and spice elements evocative of green and black peppercorn. The palate is rich and assertively ripe with black fruits, dried garrigue elements of black olive brine and a note of stony minerals that peek through at the finish.
