The Upslope Syrah is a barrel selection by winemaker Stephen Searle and the team at Jaffurs from the best of their single-vineyard lots. In the 2021 iteration, it's comprised of 50% Bien Nacido, 33% Larner and 17% Kimsey. It's rich and intensely concentrated. The aromatics offer dark chocolate and mint, healthy dashes of white pepper and a tinge of Christmas spice. The palate is rich, and the texture is velveteen. Dark chocolate enrobes spicy black plums, exotic brown spices and rich gingerbread.
