The Y3 from Jax Vineyards is North Coast appellated with Napa and Sonoma-sourced grapes, with a lot from Oak Knoll. In 2012, Dan Parrott became a proprietor of the Jax brand and began working with winemaker Kirk Venge. The 2021 is 6,500 cases. What a terrific wine for the price. This is one of the best under-$30 wines from Napa Valley I have tasted in years. It's full-bodied and super compact, with rich layers of dark berry fruits, flashy toffee, and sweet oak spices, with plenty of grip and juicy acidity, making it a great by-the-glass wine—a tremendous value.
