The ‘Phi’ – divine, inspired by the divine proportion and the golden ratio in nature – is produced by the LaGrange cooperative in Bordeaux. The wine is aged in barrels of which 50% are new. It is a beautifully polished, highly expressive, dark-fruited wine with wonderfully elliptical tannins framing ripe blue and black fruit, raspberry coulis, and elegant baking spice character layered throughout. A long graphite-toned mineral finish is thoroughly seductive, the tannins building and swirling in time and space before resolving beautifully and decisively, carried by a juicy, mouthwatering quality.
