Sonoma County

Cork

From the Rockpile Vineyard in Sonoma County, this is really glamorous. It's polished and expressive with rich blue-black fruit characters, violets, hints of black truffle, charcuterie and crushed cocoa nib notes with an extremely perfumed finish. Very lovely and harmonious. Fermented with 100% whole cluster and aged 18 months in 100% new French oak. Cuttings came from Serine from Les Grandes Places, and they were grafted over in 2005. First vintage rolled off the bottling line with the 2008 release. Jeff Cohn is originally from Maryland, worked at a winery there, and then went to Fresno State to study wine. He has always been a big fan of Zinfandel. He worked at Rosenblum Cellars beginning in 1996 and left in 2006. During that time, Cohn also made wine under his own Jeff Cohn Cellars label, which is his full focus today.
