Since 2016, Jubilation has been crafted as a blend of fruit from IX Estate, Tychson Hill and select grower vineyard sites. This marks the first time these wines will appear in the database, as they have not traditionally been shown to critics. Readers may encounter them in select restaurants and, potentially, through limited retail channels, with distribution in the UK a possibility. The 2021 possesses a wonderfully potent, deeply black-fruited character, reflective of a growing season shaped by consecutive drought years. The profile is intensely rich, ultra-plush and generous, perfumed with violets and sweet Asian and subtle Indian spices. Layers of opulent black fruit are interwoven with tobacco nuances and exquisite oak spice, all supported by a plush, suave texture. The tannins are seamlessly integrated. The wine builds with impressive depth and richness, revealing loamy earth notes and a long finish of black sea-salt spice.
