This 2007 Merlot is quite impressive for its wonderfully velvety and powdery tannic structure, with sweet tea tannins and baking spice notes of vanilla and toasty cedarwood. There is so much vibrancy and sweet spice character from the warmer vintage, but it is nicely balanced by the underlying acid tension. Really quite enjoyable and ready to go another 10 or 15 years. Tasted in early 2026.
