Of the 2013 wines from Kelham that I tasted in early 2026, the Merlot is really one of the most refined, showing the bright plum, dusty rose, red turned earth, and intensity of the 2013 vintage, with the softer, supple tannins you would expect and incredibly savoury, umami-driven, high-toned paprika-smoked charcuterie notes that layer in quite the intrigue. Medium- to full-bodied and really needs time to open up. Quite the serious and expressive Merlot.
