While the 2005 Red Wine from Kelham is still markedly youthful, it is over-the-top savoury. The tannins are nicely integrated, robust, and grippy, with underlying acid tension to boot, and the flavours run the gamut from blueberry pie and tanned leather to loamy earth, black truffle, tobacco, sandalwood, dried violets and rose petals, black olive, graphite, and charcuterie. Best paired with braised meats or smoky brisket. Tasted in early 2026.
