A Sangiovese from Kelham from the 2015 vintage, which might have been the right vintage to make Sangiovese. It was a small-yielding vintage with warm temperatures, and the result was thick-skinned berries that were totally red-fruited in their youth, becoming more savoury and earthy with development, as with this wine. Add to that tobacco and umami notes, chewy chocolatey tannins, and currant fruit with cherry pie spice on the long juicy finish. Tasted in early 2026.
