This Estrella clone is wonderfully seductive, with an ethereal quality and very dark mulberry fruit, alongside a touch of the feral character you might recognise from the Solitaire bottling, though here it’s more subdued, fresher, more perfumed, and more exotic. On the palate, the wine takes on a kind of ‘salty dog’ character, with acidity carrying a saline edge that keeps everything fresh, inviting, and intriguing as the tannins build towards a soaring finish. All of this remains beautifully balanced by ripe, juicy fruit. Quite a wine from Paso Robles.
