This wine shows the concentration that only a vineyard planted in 1988 can deliver. The Graveyard Block takes its name from an 1800s homesteader's tombstone that still stands among the vines. Aromatically, it’s bold yet nuanced, with a subtle floral lift over dark fruits, baking spices, herbs, and a gravelly mineral edge. The tannins are ripe but not overpowering, leaving room for tart blackberries and a savoury undertone to show. It’s a tiny production of only four barrels, made entirely from low-yielding, small-berried clusters, and fully destemmed to tame their naturally firm tannins while preserving the vineyard’s unmistakable power.
