The inaugural NV Solera Rosé of Pinot Noir No. 1 from Lady of the Sunshine marks a thoughtful debut in méthode ancestrale. Composed of 75% 2023 base wine and 25% fermenting 2024, the latter providing the native yeast and natural sugar for bottle fermentation, it captures bubbles with precision. From a dry-farmed, organically tended vineyard on the SLO Coast, this low-alcohol rosé opens with wild strawberry, crushed rose petal and citrus zest, underpinned by meadow herbs. A touch of reduction adds savoury nuance, while the solera base lends unexpected weight and quiet opulence to the brisk fruit. Only 96 cases produced.
