The Lichen Estate was planted in 2000 in the ‘deep end’ of Anderson Valley, an 82ha estate which is a converted sheep ranch, with oaks, madrones and bay trees dotting the rolling steep landscape. The Grand Cuvée 2012 is a beguiling bubbly with stellar, rich, honeyed aromatics, almond pastry creme, toasted brioche, and ripe rich pears. The palate balances elegance with oomph, rich and honeyed on the front palate as ripe stone fruits meld with poach pear and rich lemon curd. It's a stunning wine.
