Steve and Jill Matthiasson's Refosco is always an exciting wine to have in your glass. It's so enticing, with blue fruit and violet character interlaced with espresso nuances, incense, and cocoa powder. On the palate, the wine has a bracing core of juicy acidity balanced by chalky tannins that are also somewhat powdery, framed by earthy spices and walnut husk, and supported by a firm spine of zesty acidity. The grapes are farmed to CCOF-certified organic standards. Native yeast fermented and aged in Stockinger foudre, the wine maintains its fresh flavours beautifully.
