This was their first year producing this Cabernet Franc–Cabernet Sauvignon blend from young vines at the roughly 12-acre Detert Vineyard, including a block of Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon. The site sits near the MacDonald section of To Kalon, placing it squarely within a very impressive winegrowing neighbourhood. This is a lovely, structured wine, defined by intensely grippy, ultra-fine, tight, and compact tannins, supporting a core of juicy dark berry fruit and warming spice notes that carry through the lengthy finish.
