The wine is entirely de-stemmed and cold-soaked for six days before fermentation begins, then aged for eight months in 54% new French oak. Meredith Estate, first planted in 1998, spans 8 hectares, with a second parcel later added, bringing the total to nearly 16 hectares. The site sits just around the corner from Richaven. This is one of the more robust wines in the Merry Edwards Winery line-up that I tasted during my January 2026 visit. It shows impressive density and power, with grippy apple-skin tannins that never overwhelm. Those tannins frame vibrant red-berried fruit, savoury spice, dusty wild-herb notes, and lifted rose-petal aromatics. Despite its structure and depth, the wine retains excellent tension, energy, and drive, carrying confidently through the finish.
