The Schlatter family purchased the vineyard in 2021 and renamed it Altezia. Spanning approximately 5.3 hectares at an elevation of 762 metres, the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes harvested from this site undergo an extended skin contact of roughly 21 days during fermentation before ageing for 20 months in 50% new French oak. The nose is absolutely ravishing, with enticing herbal tones redolent of sage and white pepper, accented by hints of bay laurel. Pure and lively cassis and black cherry fruit follow through on the palate. Medium- to full-bodied, the wine shows real elegance, with firm yet mineral-laced tannins providing structure. A spine of zesty blood orange acidity underpins the finish, making this a superb expression of the vintage.
