This blend is drawn from the 10 hectare Profile Vineyard in Conn Valley, purchased by the Schlatter family in 1996. By 2010, Profile had become a true single-vineyard expression of the estate, having previously incorporated fruit from leading sites across Napa Valley. The flagship wine is crafted through a meticulous barrel selection from the vineyard’s 17 distinct blocks, assembled around six months after harvest. In 2023, it emerges as a polished, black-fruited, medium-bodied jewel and stands as one of the most structured and freshest renditions of this wine I have tasted, including during a 40-vintage vertical sampled in late 2025. Cherry and plum fruit lead, joined by dried thyme and layers of salted dark cacao, building with granular, dusty tannins and finishing long with a return to brighter red-fruited nuance.
