Sourced from the ‘sweet spot’ of smaller berries grown on shallower topsoils with eastern exposures in the Fort Ross-Seaview AVA. Luc Morlet notes that in this section of the vineyard the vines produce short shoots and smaller berries, yielding a darker, fruit-driven wine marked by dark cherry and blackberry fruit layered with graphite nuances and wild rose aromatics. Wonderfully ripe tannins provide a gentle grip through the mid-palate, while the wine remains deeply concentrated, lush, and round, with notes of unsweetened cocoa powder, graphite, and loamy earth carrying through the generous, lengthy finish.
