Natural Cork

From the 2.4 hectares of planted vines rooted in rocky loam and volcanic ash–red soils of the Mon Chevalier vineyard in Knights Valley, rising to 182 metres in elevation, comes this blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot. Fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and puncheons, the wine is aged for 17 months in 85% new French oak. Unfined and unfiltered, Mon Chevalier is named after Luc and Jodie Morlet’s son, Paul (their ‘Knight’). The 2016, tasted in early 2026, beautifully demonstrates the ageing potential of great Napa Valley Cabernet. It is rife with gorgeous Indian spice and smoked paprika notes layered over dark berry fruit, all supported by tannins that melt seamlessly across the palate. Loamy earth tones add a further sense of richness, with depth and complexity carrying through a long finish.
