From Luc Morlet's estate in St. Helena, where 2.4 hectares of vines are planted, this is fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks and puncheons, and aged for 17 months in 85% new French oak. Unfined and unfiltered, Morlet describes it as 'my Le Pin'. Talk about depth and tension. Black olive, black cherry, dark chocolate, and sous-bois are all evident, with great juicy acid tension underscoring this gorgeous wine, layered with smoked paprika notes, blood orange and incense, with building tension and energy and a lingering vibrancy. It's the most tannic of the three wines I tasted in early 2026 from Luc's library. Just fabulous. This is a wine you need to have in your collection, and by the time I tasted there were just 50 cases left in the world. They will last another two decades easily.
