From the iconic Rodgers Creek Vineyard, where vines are rooted on steep slopes at around 183 metres above sea level and exposed to pounding Pacific wind and fog, this wine shows richly textured suppleness and the fleshiness of red Gravenstein apple and poached pear, laced with vanilla and layered with French pastry notes. Warm spices add intrigue, while the acidity carries a saline character, balanced by cooler wet slate and chalky minerality on the long, medium-bodied finish.
