The last one where the families were directly involved and after 2002 was the lowest crop of the decade, this one is the highest, croped at five tonnes per acre instead of the usual four. You can feel that this is lighter than many years, it doesn't quite stretch out through the palate as the most concentrated vintages do, but it has charm, and its difficult reception at the time seems less justified here - and least when it is paired with food and provides a welcome breath from the concentrated wines on either side in the line-up. One to enjoy soon. 1% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot completes the blend. 32 days skin contact, harvest 17th September to 2nd November, stopping the day before heavy rains.
