Sourced from a steep hillside vineyard in the foothills of Mt. Saint Helena near Peter Michael and the Napa-Sonoma border, this wine comes from a southwest-facing slope of around 0.8 hectares. It was aged in 80% clay amphora and 20% new French oak barrels. In 2023, the wine is super creamy and velvety, offering black cherry and blackberry fruit supported by tannins so polished they recall the sheen of a pearl, with juicy acidity and tension beneath that frame this pure-fruited red beautifully. Long and mineral-driven on the expressive finish. The label has been crafted by winemaker Aaron Pott since 2008, who also planted the vineyard.
