This 100% Sangiovese rosé comes from the 32-hectare Eakle Ranch in the easternmost reaches of Pope Valley. Aged entirely in stainless steel and picked at 3.1 pH, similar to sparkling wine grapes, the result is delicate yet textural rosé wine. It offers bright notes of strawberry, kiwi, and white peach, complemented by a subtle limestone minerality which layers in a bit of grip and tension and finishes with green apple skin notes and zesty acidity. Founded by Ed Haus in 1897, Pope Valley Winery is now owned by the Eakle family, with Jean Hoefliger as the consultant winemaker.
