This Grenache comes straight from an east-facing block of the Stagecoach Vineyard. Fermented in open-top Burgundian oak tanks with hand punchdowns, the wine undergoes an extended maceration, blanketed by nitrogen to preserve its vibrant character. Additionally, 5% Syrah from Lagier Meredith Vineyard—now part of Aaron Pott’s Mt. Veeder property as of 2022—is blended in. The entire estate spans 145 hectares, with 3.8 hectares planted to vines. This Grenache boasts terrific richness and roundness, with succulent red berry fruit, black cherry, and spiced plum. Mexican mocha notes, red liquorice, graphite minerality, and hints of candied lavender and violets add depth and intrigue. The palate is juicy and warming, with a long espresso bean finish and crunchy cacao nibs.
