A cool-climate Syrah grown on stunning sandy soils at the Presqu'ile estate. This wine exudes elegance and energy, showcasing high-toned white pepper, violet notes, eucalyptus, blood orange, and hen-of-the-woods mushrooms. Medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins offering a lovely granularity, it features beautiful tension and grip on the mid-palate. Generous flavours of fleshy spiced plums and smoky clove are layered with brown baking spices and a distinct cool, wet slate minerality on the long finish. The wine was aged 18 months in French oak puncheons and 500-litre neutral barrels with some concrete, with 70% whole cluster fermentation contributing to its complexity and character. Presqu'ile Winery, established in 2008 by the Murphy family, is led by winemaker Dieter Cronje, who has been with the winery since its inception.
