Bob Pruett makes some of the most exciting Chardonnays in the Livermore Valley. This one is named for chickens, chivalrous, free-range chickens that eat the wine grapes. The Poulet Sautant is an unoaked Chardonnay with faint aromatics of lemon verbena and dried white florals, hinting at this wine's demure character. The palate offers yellow peaches, juicy Meyer lemon pulp and poached apples. It's ripe without a doubt, but the freshness and lack of oaky opulence let this wine soar.
