From Melanson Vineyard, perched at the top of a bowl on Pritchard Hill with views across to Colgin Estate, the vines were planted in 1999 at over 410 metres above sea level. The 2023 is super-suave, polished, bold, and expressive, delivering layered black fruit, volcanic minerality, and deep gravelly, loamy earth tones. Ultra-fine yet powerful tannins are firmly embedded, showing compact structure and impressive integration at this youthful stage. A very impressive wine that promises to age gracefully over the long haul, marked by precision, purity of fruit, and a distinctly mineral-rich profile.
