From vintner Joe Wagner comes this decadent Cabernet that has undergone extensive maceration time and 20 months of ageing in Bordeaux and Burgundy barrels, of which 70% was new. Opaque ruby in the glass, revealing high-toned black fruit notes and toasty oak. On the palate, the wine is very drying, almost lacking in fruit and seems somewhat stripped, which is atypical of Wagner's robust, juicy style. Best to pay close attention to bottle variation with this one.
