The 0.4ha Hartwell XX estate is planted to Bouschet Clone Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 19 months in 75% new French oak, with 25% of the blend aged in concrete eggs for 10 months. Ultra concentrated with blue-black fruit notes, gorgeous aromatics of anise, fennel, bay laurel, ironstone mineral character, and possesses a density, yet a lightness with a whole host of notes like white pepper, violets, rose, and fresh fruit character of strawberry and cherry, a hint of vanilla bean, and fabulous wet slate and crushed stone minerality on the long finish. Postively stellar in 2023.
