Sourced entirely from the 22-acre Houyi Vineyard on Pritchard Hill, where soils are predominantly the Hambright loam series. Fermented in stainless steel, aged 19 months in 63% new French oak, with some transferred to a concrete egg for the rest of the ageing process. The wine is not as mountainous as some other Pritchard Hill wines, and ageing in concrete helps counter the wine's natural creaminess, layering in freshness, brightness, and tension. In the glass, gorgeous minty freshness, with violets, and rose stem, cassis and black cherry make appearances on the palate, with softer, lusher tannins, ample fruit weight, also lush and plentiful, with these mixed berry pie notes, raspberry coulis, and lovely, captivating finish.
