Sourced from Kenefick Ranch in Calistoga, this blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Petit Verdot reflects the unique terroir of deep volcanic soils in the Cortina soil series, eroded from Simmons Canyon. Aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels and bottled unfined and unfiltered, this is one of the most complete, polished, and stylish wines from Kenefick Ranch in 2022. The fruit is pure, ripe, and vibrant, showcasing a very black-toned profile complemented by fragrant fresh herbs like tarragon and spearmint. The fleshy fruit builds a rich, layered profile, accented by salted dark chocolate and graphite-rich tannins. These tannins have an elongated, buoyant quality, carrying the juicy and energised finish to impressive lengths. A beautifully crafted and expressive wine.
