From Park Muscadine Vineyard on Howell Mountain. There’s some sediment in the glass, but nothing to be concerned about. Absolutely riveting at this stage, with blue and black fruit, loamy earth and rich, sumptuous, scorched-earth notes complemented by lovely toasty cedarwood. Dried violets emerge alongside exceptionally powerful tannins that remain fully intact—they grip the sides of the palate and hold firm before a wave of cool black and blue fruit washes over, leaving a trail of earthy minerality and wet slate in its wake. Quite the powerhouse at ten years old. Drink now or enjoy over the next ten to fifteen years with ease.
