Made with 100% whole cluster, done in a 1-ton ferment, and pumped over.Elévage in a 2500 litre cask for 2-3 years. Sometimes it's racked once or twice, if at all. There’s only a little bit of this from a tiny parcel. It's an aromatic array of dessicated florals, blood and iron, smoked sea salt, and gorgeous fruits. Taut, succulent mountain syrah with silken, gleaming fruits that meld with amaro herbals, gamy and meaty with amazing depth and sauvage. No corrections to this Syrah, a pure expression of the site, planted in 2004, a touch inland from Alpine, and with three different Syrah clones.
