Bob Foley’s Conclusão is a Port-style dessert wine of rare decadence, conceived explicitly as an indulgent finale to winemaker dinners, replacing traditional sweets. Crafted as a barrel-aged treatment of classic Portuguese varieties—including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Cão, and Tinta Barocca—all hailing from York Creek Vineyard atop Spring Mountain, this wine undergoes a luxurious seven-year maturation in neutral cooperage. Unabashedly luscious, it unfolds with sweet cassis, blackberry, fig, and salted dark-chocolate-covered cherries, sliding into blue-fruit compote nuances and graham-cracker-custard spice on an opulent, lingering finish. Sumptuous, layered, and utterly decadent. Robert Foley has been making wine in Napa Valley since 1977, learning under Joe Heitz and André Tchelistcheff before shaping the styles at Markham and Pride Mountain, and founding his own Howell Mountain estate in 1998. Known for patient, long-lived reds, he insists that real winemaking begins in the vineyard.
