Black currant, blackberry, and walnut husk lead into brighter cherry fruit and violets. Super-fine cocoa powder tannins frame opulent textures, lending depth and complexity to the wine on the palate. A decadent compote of blue fruit carries through to a lengthy finish, accented by toasty oak. From the Solari Vineyard in Calistoga. Syrah vines are planted on ancient river bottom gravel near the base of Mount St Helena. Fermented in stainless steel tanks, aged 19 months in neutral French oak.
