The Reserve Red Blend is a selection of lots with greater concentration, power, and more finesse-driven tannins. Fermented entirely in barrel and aged for 10 months in 87% new French oak, the blend includes 13% Petit Verdot. As with the regular Red Blend, this wine is vibrant and energising, though here the expression is more polished and refined. Pure blue and black fruit lead the way, accented by touches of tobacco spice and wet slate. The palate shows excellent fruit concentration with a well-defined mid-weight core, supported by beautifully integrated, refined tannins that form a seamless foundation. A mineral and earthy quality supports a lifted, juicy, fragrant fruit character on the finish. This bottling offers a compelling opportunity to showcase what To Kalon can achieve with varieties beyond just Cabernet Sauvignon.
